2 year old Picea jezoensis or Ezo spruce, grown from seed. They're native to Northeast-Asia and very popular as bonsai in Japan. In Europe however, they're hard to find!

These seedlings have already been wired to ensure good movement low in the trunk. The roots were pruned at first repotting, so there's no tap root and the roots spread radially!

These small trees have great potential as shohin trees, or you can choose to grow them out for larger size bonsai.

Note: you will receive a similar plant as the one in the picture.

2 year old Picea jezoensis, grown from seed. These seedlings haven't been wired yet. The small trunks are still flexible enough to wire and bend them to your liking!

The roots were pruned at first repotting, so there's no tap root and the roots spread radially.

Note: you will receive a similar plant as the one in the picture.

3 year old European larch (Larix decidua) seedling.

This species is very suitable for bonsai cultivation. In spring, they develop bright green foliage and in autumn the needles turn a soft yellow. This is a coniferous species that loses its foliage in autumn.
This species is very forgiving and suitable for beginners. These seedlings are ideal for developing smaller bonsai, or for creating group plantings.

Every plant has been root pruned in their first year of growth to ensure a good nebari.

Height aprox. 15 cm.

Note: you will receive a similar plant as the one in the picture.

3 year old European spruce seedling. This tree is native to Northern and Central Europe and is often used as a Christmas tree!

Although this species isn't often seen as bonsai, they can be trained into a variety of styles as long as the trunk and branches are wired at a young age. It's a very rewarding tree to grow from a seedling and is very suitable for smaller sized bonsai.

Height aprox. 10 cm

Note: you will receive a similar plant as the one in the picture.

A 3 year Japanese snowbell (Styrax japonica) grown from seed. This flowering shrub is an excellent species for bonsai cultivation. It grows very fast, reacts well to pruning and the trunk can thicken quite rapidly. Older specimens flower with beautiful white bell-shaped flowers in spring.

The trunk was wired while it was still young, so now it has some really interesting movement! As with all my seedlings, I prune the roots early on, in order to create an even, radial rootspread.

Note: pictures were taken during summer. As this is a deciduous plant, it loses its leaves in fall!

2 year old Japanese red pine seedling, grown from seed. This species is very popular for bonsai cultivation in Japan. In Europe, they're not so wide spread, although they grow very well in our temperate climate.

Note: you will receive a similar plant as the one in the picture.
