Japanese black pine - Pinus thunbergii

4 year old Japanese black pine, grown from seed. In the first year, the taproot was cut in order to ensure a nice root spread (nebari) in the future, and it was pruned to promote backbudding in the lowest portion of the trunk. The trunk has already been wired to create an interesting movement.

It's perfect for creating shohin (small sized) bonsai, or just letting it grow and making the 'perfect' bonsai from scratch. By growing bonsai from seedlings, you're in total control of the entire process!
